Homestay Oxford Options

To read more about what to expect in our homestay check here. We have a number of homestay options - with each one we guarantee you a warm welcome. We can accommodate single people, couples, friends and children. In each case you will stay in a house ideally situated for Oxford, unrivalled as a centre of historic and cultural interest.

Option 1: Homestay

You stay in our home, have breakfast and eat dinner with us. We show you the locality, escort you on one introductory visit to Oxford, and give advice on visiting Oxford, London and the many exciting places nearby.

Option 2: Homestay with Tourism/Culture

You stay in our home, have breakfast and eat dinner with us. We give you greater guidance about your visits and accompany you to show you the locality including two half days visits to Oxford. We spend about one hour per day discussing cultural issues and provide more information on your visits and give advice about places you will visit in Oxford, London and the many exciting places nearby.

Option 3: Homestay with English language

You can take 1:1 or 2:1 English lessons with your host who is a fully qualified English language teacher. By taking lessons in your teacher’s home you are totally immersed in the language and can practise your English both formally and informally. I am happy to teach all ages and am qualified to teach from beginners to advanced level, normally focusing on speaking and listening skills.  I offer general English, English for examination purposes, English with cultural studies and Business English. The success of the lessons comes from providing tuition that can focus on your individual needs.

I am a fully qualified English language teacher, holding the Trinity Cert  TESOL qualification, one of the two teaching qualifications recognised by the British Council. I am able to offer general English or Business English. For more information about English language studies check the English language page. The lessons are normally for 15 hours, 20 hours or 25 hours per week and can include cultural studies if requested.

Option 4: Homestay with Study at an Oxford College

You stay at Homestay Oxford and take lessons at a local college. You would also have the option of taking individual one-to-one lessons at Homestay Oxford - then you would have the experience of sharing classes with other learners while also having the benefit of personal individual tuition.

Option 5: Accommodation only

You stay at Homestay Oxford on a bed and breakfast (B & B) basis with an option of joining us for dinner. Please note that this option is normally only available for stays of 4 nights or more. This has been used by people whose friends are staying in the local hospitals - Churchill, John Radcliffe, Nuffield, Manor.
