Music and Art in Oxford

Music in Oxford

Oxford is a city of music with numerous concerts available almost every night.

To find out what’s on, it is probably best to consult Oxford’s Daily Information or for a more general picture the In Oxford magazine.

Here are some music links: the City of Oxford Orchestra, Oxford Contemporary Music, Music at Oxford and Oxford Coffee Concerts which are normally held on Sunday mornings in the Holywell Music Room which is the oldest purpose built concert hall in the world.  It was opened in 1748.

Art in Oxford

There are numerous art events in Oxford including Art in Action which is a celebration of craftwork and Oxford Artweeks where artists, both amateur and professional open their studios and houses for the public to view their work (May/June).
