Outside Oxford - London, Stratford and other places

The most exciting place to visit outside Oxford must be London. It is very easy to get to London from our homestay in Headington. There are two bus companies whose buses  run every few minutes. The journey into London takes just over an hour. For more information check here.

Stonehenge is a very interesting place to visit but you will need a car to visit it.

There are many National Trust properties (country houses and gardens) not very far from Oxford including Waddesdon (car 45 mins) which contains the Rothschild collection. Another famous  country estate, Cliveden, well known for a 1960’s government scandal.

Bath is another very popular visiting place; it is well known as a beautiful city and for its Roman baths. Another really popular place to visit is Windsor Castle (by car, one hour).

People like to visit Warwick Castle which, apart from the castle itself, has interesting activities.(about one hour by car).

These are just a few examples of what is available fairly close to Oxford.
