When you come to stay with us at Homestay Oxford, we will want you to feel completely at home. We will welcome you into our house and are sure you will be very comfortable. We have gained experience over many years of offering a homestay to visitors to the UK. The ages of our visitors have ranged from 7 years of age to mid-fifties.
Helen is originally from Taiwan and settled in Oxford over ten years ago. She has four degrees, including Business Computing and a recently gained MA in Fine Art. She is now a professional painter organising an exhibition next year in Oxford. She has worked in many different media but her favourite is oils, which although taking a long time to complete, allow her to express herself n a way she finds most satisfying.
William has spent the majority of his career at Oxford Brookes University some of it lecturing but most in management including setting up its International Office and acting as Director of International Relations for many years. He has also written several books, has worked with various businesses and conducted a variety of consultancy services. Apart from his academic qualifications, MPhil, BA and BSc, William holds the Trinity College, Cert TESOL, a qualification for teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, one of two teaching qualifications that the British Council recognises.
We are offering to be your hosts while you live in our home in Headington, which is situated within the City of Oxford. The city centre is just a few kilometres away, easily reached by means of a short bus journey. Buses run to London every few minutes from a stop just a ten minute walk from our house. We offer basic homestay or homestay with English language and/or Cultural Studies
We share the hobbies of art, reading, walking, the countryside, punting, tennis, table tennis, buildings, antiques and politics/current affairs.
